The central wisconsin feel just north of the border, complete with spotted cow =)

Your typical, off the beaten path, hole-in-the-wall bar. We love it. Low ceilings, cheap drinks, friendly people and pizza anytime!

In the middle of the night, winding down Southalnd Drive it took us nearly twenty minutes to find this South Geneva Lake treat. We were told at another bar about this location and that it was a must stop on our way to the infamous Zenda Tap. So after a few wrong turns and what seemed to be a road heading to nowhere, we happened upon the tell tale sign that you are approaching a rural tavern -- the neon bar lights. There were three people inside including the bartender and drinks were very cheap. The northwoods feel to the pub made the ambiance interesting and if you get there early pub grub is available. Just having found this lakeside treasure made it completely worth the wrong turns and according to the bartender, summer months make the place extremeley popular. I will make note of that for my next trip home during warmer months.

If your looking for a decent place to hang out, this is. Is tucked back in a neighborhood. Great family that owns/runs the bar. There smoked Brisket and Pork is wonderful! You can have it on nachos or Mac n cheese. And inexpensive. We've had a lot of fun hanging out there

Just found the quaint out of the way spot. New husband and wife owners who couldn't Be more welcoming and nicer. Customers are very friendly and welcoming to new bees . No food yet except free apps but plan on building a kitchen very soon.

The Owl is my go to Lake Geneva dive bar, even though it's not really a dive by my standards. It's a great old Wisconsin Northwoods style bar off of the beaten path. The old school wood paneling inside sets the atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the drink pricing is cheap. I've taken quite a few friends here over the years and always had a good time.

We attended a rehearsal dinner here last weekend and quite enjoyed it. This is the local bar for my good friend who got married last weekend. I had heard about it for years and have finally been there. I was not expecting much in the way of food, but they sure delivered. They had pulled pork, meatloaf and bbq chicken sandwiches. Good slaw. And incredible movie theatre nachos on steroids. The drink service was really fast and this is with a heavy boozy crowd we were in. Well done owl tavern.

We attended a rehearsal dinner at the Owl Tavern and had a great time! This intimate tavern was a perfect setting for the event. The food was good too- better than expected. There was mac 'n cheese, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken BBQ sandwiches, salad, coleslaw and nachos. Overall a great time was to be had at this local establishment.

Great smoked food, friendly staff, I heard they are even getting burgers soon! I can't wait! This is one of my favorite places on lake Geneva and a great little tavern that more people should know about.

If you are looking for a laid back, good bbq place, you found it! The place is small and cozy, with a pool table a juke box and plenty of places to sit. It is really clean and service is great! The menu doesn't have a lot of options, but the options that it has are very good, I loved the smoked pork mac, and if you are one of those people that likes their coleslaw on the vinagre-y side, like my boyfriend, just order one of their sandwiches.

We hit this place every year on a charity bike ride around the lake. Fun little place along the ride. Looks exactly what you want your Wisconsin tavern to look like inside. Vintage beer signs, pool table.

Waitress/bartender was friendly and attentive even tho she was managing a packed house alone. Limited bottle beers, no drafts, good mixed drinks. Last Friday we had two beers, glass of wine, two of the smoked wings meals for $20! The other couple with us had brisket nachos and smoked meatloaf sandwich. Enjoyed it all!

This place is the best! The service it awesome! Pat and Heather really know their stuff when it comes to this bar. Erin, Kelly, and Tara are awesome bartenders who will make any drink you want. Great selection of alcohol and beer. Want a specific beer? They'll order it for you. I definitely recommend this bar to people. Guaranteed to have a great time at this bar. Hands down.

Great BBQ with probably the best baked beans I've ever had. Owners are very friendly and service is great. Highly suggest this place of you're looking to go somewhere a little off the beaten path but still very close to downtown Lake Geneva.

So much to say about this place...but I'll start with the food. For those who said that this is "good BBQ", then you obviously have never had good BBQ. The food was not good. I got the brisket and my wife got the pulled pork. Both of which were lacking in flavor, very bland. You could tell that the meats were not smoked at the restaurant, but purchased smoked and then just warmed up on the premises. The Mac'n'cheese was not homemade. And if it actually was, then they need a new recipe! If you've ever gone to a all you can eat buffet, the mac'n'cheese tastes just like that. Like it came in a bag, warmed in hot water, opened and then poured into a bowl. And it was also bland. Which is sad...this is Wisconsin, that should be a signature dish here. The prices were great when you look at the menu, but for the quality that you get, it's overpriced. You could get better pulled pork and beef brisket at your local grocery store. It comes in a little container and all you've goti to do is warm it up and it tastes way better than what you get here. Now the service: I'm the kind of person who can get over bad service if the food is good. Or vice versa! But when both are horrible, that's a problem. When we walked in, there were 15 laps left of the Indy 500. The bar had about 15 people sitting around it and they all seemed like locals. Nobody else was I the place. The person who said there was a lot of seating, that's a lie. There are like 4 tables other than seats at the bar. The bartender had to come around and wipe down one of the tables for us because they were all dirty. She didn't say a word to us except, "ok, it's clean now". We waited for 5 minutes for a menu. But she never came back over with a menu. We thankfully found one shoved between the wall and the napkin dispenser, barely visible. We looked it over, decided what we wanted. But we kept waiting. Yes, there were 15 people at the bar, yes she was the only waitress. But this was 2pm on a Sunday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend. They needed to have more people working. And when my wife saw her just standing there talking to people at the bar, we almost left before we even ordered. After about 15 minutes (been in there for about 20-25 mins at this point), she finally came over to take our order. She wrote down what we wanted and just turned around and walked away. Didn't say a word, not a "thank you" not a "I'll get that right in for you"...nothing. Then about 7 minute later, our food came(another way you can tell none of it was homemade). The waitress checked in on us once, after she brought food to the next table. And that was it. We finished eating and continued to wait for our check. We sat there for about 20 minutes waiting for the check. My wife saw the waitress leaning against the bar talking to people at the bar. At this point we decided to just add up what our bill would be and leave plenty of money on the table. Our bill would have been about $20 and we left $25 on the table. Here is the kicker that really upset me...the waitress followed us out the door and says "uh, wanna pay me?". It's ice that she didn't pay any attention to us while we sat in there, but as soon as she thought she wasn't going to get paid, we were a top priority. We told her that we left money on the table. She just responded "ok" and walked back inside. I understand being concerned that someone is going to "dine and dash", but my wife and I don't look like the kind of people that would do that. So to come outside and react like that was extremely rude and uncalled for. She could have said so many other things to ask if we paid, but she picked a horrible way to do it. We are in Lake Geneva all the time but we will NEVER come to this place again. Horrible food and service!

The new owners, Pat and Heather, have done this place up right. The Owl Tavern is a great local bar, very out of the way. It's a quiet atmosphere with plenty of friendly locals. They've started to serve food with their new kitchen. Pop a few bucks into the jukebox, play a game of pool or darts, or just hang at the bar and have a few drinks. We love this place.

Love it!!! I have been here just a few times but it's always great. Pool table, juke box, and cheap drinks. There's also slot machines but they won't let you collect at night so you have to go back the next day or play till you lose. Otherwise, it's truly a gem when you find this well-kept dive.

We agree with reviewer J.P. on this place. We stopped by after seeing their ad in The Resorter thinking it would be an interesting place to try. Sorry we missed the St. Pat's celebration. Good thing we had a GPS device to find this little gem of a bar through the back roads of Lake Geneva proper. Scott the bartender was great! We had a nice time and will definitely be back again!

I pulled up and the bartender was outside enjoying the evening...she came inside, introduced herself and asked me about myself. That was damn nice, thank you! So they get credit for friendliness for sure. There were about four locals in the place and what seemed to be a ski instructor and student (I was there in July, ok?) so I was a bit disappointed it wasnt more happening and this was Friday night at 8pm. But credit where it is due for friendliness and atmosphere.
